My First Advent Countdown using Matchboxes

I have made an advent countdown for my mum and dad using matchboxes. My mum and dad are both diabetics so filling the boxes with chocolates was not really an option. I have instead found a Christmas themed crossword online and added one or two crossword clues to each box so by Christmas the crossword will be complete. I popped the boxes into a basket and added the crossword puzzle, a pen, a Christmas notepad, a 2011 coaster calendar and a magnetic peg.

This is what my countdown looks like...

Ooohhh I feel all festive now!!! I have enough matchboxes to make my lil guys one but need to find the time to sit down and get it done ;-)

I would like to enter my countdown into the following challenges:

Supplies:
Matchboxes - Baker Ross
Papers - 'Tis The Season by Dovecraft
Ribbons - selection from my stash
Numbers - a fab freebie download here printed on kraft paper
Coaster - Calico Crafts
2011 Calendar - Anitas
Magnetic notepad - Home Bargains
Wooden peg - Tesco Value
Magnet on back of peg - ebay
Flowers - Bazzill
Buttons - from stash

We Need Your Help!!!

My friend Trisha is wanting to increase awareness of the work of The Ear Trust and to raise money to help them to do more of their amazing work. Janette from Stamping Dragon Designs has created an amazing snail digi which she has kindly given permission to Trisha to sell to fundraise. Janette has also done a fab christmas version too. Both versions are available to buy for £1.50 each from Trisha via paypal - gift payment to birchallteresa@yahoo.com. Please state whether you'd like the Santa Snail or Normal or like me, order both ;-)

Pop over to Trisha's blog and read her very personal story regarding her family and The Ear Trust and to see what she has created with the images so far and enter her fab bog candy, available to everyone who buys a Snail digi. All money raised is to go to The Ear Trust.

Here are some wallets that Trisha has made using the Santa Snail digis, aren't they cute!

Thanks for reading x

My ribbon was a purchase from the Hobby House stand at Ally Pally, I could have easily spend hundreds and hundreds on that one stand.
