Pretty Petals...

Good morning, today is my eldest son Jack's birthday, 9 today, just doesn't seem possible! We are taking him and 3 friends to watch The Croods on Friday and then to TGIs for dinner. The boys are at school tomorrow but my last day is today so I will be chasing around tomorrow getting ready for Friday. We are also off to Center Parcs on Easter Monday so need to get ready for that too.

Now onto my card for today, this is one of those cards that sort of made itself, as soon as I saw the gorgeous StampArt Design image I thought this MME paper would go perfectly with it. As the paper is busy I haven't done much in the way of embellishment...

Paper - Quilting Bee by MME (I adore this paper pad!)
Seam binding - Crafty Ribbons
Pearls - stash

So onto my DT card, I have to say I struggled for a while thinking about what to do then I remembered this fantastic image by LivvyBo called Flap-Happy available from Whimsy Stamps. I decided to go for green as my main colour and coloured some pearls and sheer ribbon with a Promarker to tie in to my colour scheme. I have layered up the flower with 3d foam pads for some added dimension.

You're So Tweet!

Morning crafters. It's time for a brand new challenge at Whimsy Stamps  - Stitching: Real or FauxNow stitching is not something I often do on my cards so I opted for the faux version ;-)

For this challenge I've made a card with a cute illustrated sentiment by Raindrop EchoDesigns. I used a paper piercer to make small holes all around the sentiment strip and added faux stitching detail with a 0.1 Letraset fineliner. I think it looks fab, what do you think…? I kept the rest of the card quite mininal to allow the stitching to stand out, I also mounted the sentiment strip of card onto 3d foam pads...

Close-up of the funky faux stitching...

Supplies:
Image -  from the Beary Lovely Sentiments set coloured with Promarkers
Paper – Quilting Bee by MME
Buttons - Crafty Ribbons (I won a fantastic selection of buttons recently in a challenge, thank you Ali at Crafty Ribbons x)

Other - 0.1 Letraset fineliner, twine kraft cardstock

Don't forget you don't have to use a Whimsy item to enter the challenge (it would be great if you did though!).

Don't forget also...as well as 3 random winners (yep I did say 3!) being chosen each challenge one lucky player who has used a Whimsy Stamps image (rubber or digital) will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge. If you have used a Whimsy Image and would like to be a future guest please add GDT to your name when entering. The Guest Designer will be able to choose a digi stamp of their choice from the store to create their guest card too!

Remember anyone can enter our challenge and we don't mind you combining with other challenges either! All we ask is that you add a link in your blog post to tell your friends you entered the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Challenge.
