My top 5 Christmas card makes of 2011...

Debby has asked us to post our favourite Christmas cards of 2011, here are mine...

This is the very first Christmas card I made this year on 2nd July. I love this Ladybug Crafts Ink image and gave the card to my mum and dad for Christmas...

I love the buttons on this card and the traditional papers...

This card is soooo me I think, love the papers, nice simple layout...

I made this card after buying the gorgeous Whimsy tag die and hid the tag behind the cute image, I love the icy blue and red with the kraft...

I love the image on this card, the snowman has such a gorgeous expression and the Bo Bunny papers are just to die for (well I think so anyway, lol x)...

So there you have it, my top 5. It's been lovely looking back at my card journey that started back in July, thanks Debby x

It's all over for another year!

So, how was your Christmas? Ours was good, the boys got everything they wanted and more besides. Most of the toys have finally been put upstairs. We've sorted a huge (and I mean huge) pile of kiddie books to take to the local hospital for the children's ward later in the week. Thomas has taken a bit if a dip today, his temperature is up again and he says his ear hurts so we may be heading back to the doctors tomorrow :-(

I had a play last night with a gorgeous stamp I bought weeks ago and didn't get the chance to ink up. I think she is so pretty. The butterfly die is also new, again something I bought a while ago and not used, oh dear I am soooo naughty ;-) I love this particular butterfly and can see it featuring on lots of my cards from now on...

Supplies:

Papers - Blush by MME
Pearls - ebay
Flowers - all Crafty Emma's Store
Tools - deckle edge rectangle Nestie, Quickutz corner die, butterfly by Marianne Design Creatables, scissors for distressing

Happy Christmas!!!

Happy Christmas one and all, hope the man in the red suit has visited your house and left you some gorgeous pressies xxx

Wednesday, 21 December 2011

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

So, are you all ready for the big day? No??? Me neither ;-) Things have been hectic in our house to say the least as my nan has been in and out of hospital with a broken hip, broken arm and other things and my mini monkey has had a nasty ear infection for over a week. So if I haven't dropped by your blog for a while that is why x

This is my last make for Christmas, it is a tissue box cover for our lovely neighbours. I say it is my last make for Christmas, I think it is actually the only thing I have made bar cards, tags and a couple of altered gift bags.

I used the tutorial here but changed the dimensions to fit my tissue box. The pink cardstock has been embossed with snowflakes and then I've wiped a brown chalk inkpad over for a distressed look. The gorgeous bear is designed by StampArt aka Kathy and called HollyBelle. She is available to purchase here.

Supplies:
Image - HollyBelle coloured with Promarkers
Paper - October Afternoon
Cardstock - Bazzill kraft & Core'dinations Tim Holtz
Flowers - selection from Crafty Emma's Store
Metal corners - present from a lovely lady, thank you lovely lady x

It's challenge time at Whimsy...

It's Wednesday so that means it's time for a new Whimsy Stamps Inspirations challenge! Our theme this week is Monochromatic.

I have used a fab image from Lia Stampz called Haley and is available to purchase here. I have used her to decorate a blank kraft gift bag. I opened the image in Word and used a text box to add the word Winter to the board Haley is holding. To highlight all the brown I have used touches of black. The pearls started life white and I have coloured them with a black Promarker. I will definitely do this again, the ink dried so quickly. The only 'colour' on the image is a bit of Frosted Lace Stickles...

I added some ribbon and twine to a little paper clip to seal the bag, hopefully to prevent peeking by the recipient ;-)

I am working in a school so have school holidays off so here I am! I just wanted to share a lil pic of my boys at a country park near Kettering. My youngest took Fingers McGraw to the park and we lost him for most of the day, only to find him in the play park where our day started ;-) The boy in green isn't mine, he's a friend of Jack's...
