It's challenge time at Whimsy...

It's Wednesday so that means it's time for a new Whimsy Stamps Inspirations challenge! Our theme this week is Anything but Square.

I have made a card using a cutesy StampArt Design image called Special Delivery. I don't really do non-square cards, I get so little crafting time I don't really bother doing anything that's not 6x6. However I really liked making this little card, I really like the simple yet different shape. I normally colour my bears in pale brown shades but have gone for an orangey brown, I quite like the look of him...

Supplies:
Image - Special Delivery coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers
Sentiment - from the Everyday Mini Postage Stamps sentiment set
Papers - Boho Chic by First Edition
Flowers - ebay
Pearls - ebay
Tools - Whimsy mini postage stamp die, Quickutz corner die, Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die, brown chalk inkpad

Don't forget you don't have to use a Whimsy item to enter the challenge (it would be great if you did though!)

Don't forget also...as well as a random winner being chosen each challenge one lucky player who has used a Whimsy Stamps image (rubber or digital) will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge. If you have used a Whimsy Image and would like to be a future guest please add GDT to your name when entering. The Guest Designer will be able to choose a digi stamp of their choice from the store to create their guest card too!

Remember anyone can enter our challenge and we don't mind you combining with other challenges either!
All we ask is that you add a link in your blog post to tell your friends you entered the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Challenge.

Rain or Shine...?

I love images with umbrellas so when I spied this D'Arcy's Diaries image I had to grab her and made a card almost straight away. I bought a cute little umbrella die ages ago and have been waiting for the right image in order to use it. I saw a beautiful ticket sentiment on one of Pop's cards last week so popped across to Cuddly Buddly and bought the ticket set, brilliant value for so many sentiments, this one is perfect for this card I think...

I love the image so much I put a mini one on the inside...

Here's a close up of the super cute umbrella die. I've cut it out in kraft cardstock for the base and again in paper to make a patterned shade...

It's challenge time at Whimsy...

It's Wednesday so that means it's time for a new Whimsy Stamps Inspirations challenge! Our theme this week is Buttons & Bows.

My card today is pretty clutter free, I have used my fave colour combination of blue and pink. I printed a single butterfly out from the Butterfly Border 1 set by Kathy aka StampArt Design and coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers and cut it out and softly bent the wings around a pair of scissors to give them some dimension. I have used some gorgeous digi paper by Michele R Designs that has very pale pink butterflies all over it...

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly - 3, 2, 1 (3 buttons, 2 pieces of ribbon and 1 butterfly)
Hooked on Craft - All That Glitters
CYDA - Bingo (flowers, ribbon, gems)
Totally Papercrafts - Doodle On It (I drew the butterfly anntenna onto the dp)

Supplies:
Image - Butterfly Border 1 (currently only $1 in the Whimsy Stamps June sale!) coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers
Paper - from the Flight of the Butterflies set by Michele R Designs
Ribbon - Pretty Little Ribbon Shop
Flower - ebay
Buttons - Pretty Little Ribbon Shop
Gems - Melissa Frances
Other - brown chalk inkpad, Letraset fineliner for drawing the butterfly's anntena, Stardust Stickles

Have you missed me...?

We have just come back from a week in Southport. My dad was born there and I'd never been and always wanted to and now I have ;-) We spend a day at the gorgeous Formby Point where the pic below was taken. It's back to the grindstone now with washing and ironing coming out of my ears. Need to get straight tomorrow as it's back to work on Monday...

This next one was taken at Southport beach...

It's blog hop time at Whimsy Stamps!

It's June digi release day at Whimsy Stamps and there are lots of fab new images and beautiful papers. If you are taking part in the Whimsy Stamps blog hop you should have arrived at my lil blog from the Whimsy Stamps blog as I am the first stop!

For my card I have used a fabulous Lia Stampz squirrel image, he is so cute. I have coloured him in a scruffy sort of style to make him look messy/untidy which I think adds to his appeal. The ring of flowers has been made using a Woodware leaf punch and laying the leaves in a ring shape and then popping a flower where two leaves meet (does that make any sense...?). I've used a fab sentiment from Raindrop Echo Designs to finish my card...

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Divas by Design - Anything Goes (2nd entry)
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes (2nd entry)
I Love Promarkers - Use a Digi
Aud Sentiments - Any Sentiment

Supplies:
Image - Squirrel by Lia Stampz coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers
Papers - Pampered Pets by Docrafts
Sentiment - from the Animal Companions digi sentiments set by Ann Vento aka Raindrop Echo Designs
Flowers - ebay
Pearls - ebay
Tools - Circle Nesties, Quickutz corner die, Woodware leaf punch, brown chalk inkpad, Stardust Stickles glitter glue

So onto the details of the HOP! Don't forget to leave comments along the way as there are 2 mystery DT Members who will each be choosing a winner from the comments left on their hop posts! These winners will each win a Whimsy digi image of their choice. The Grand Prize winner of the hop will be chosen from the very last stop, which is Joann's blog. This winner will receive 5 digital stamps of their choice from Whimsy. Whoo hoo!

The hop will run for 1 week and end on Friday 8th June at 12 Noon EST (5pm GMT), when the lucky winners will be announced on the Whimsy Inspirations blog.

You now need to hop over to Charlene's blog.
