My Favourite Place In All The World Is Next To You...

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts and our theme this week has been chosen by the lovely Brenda and is 'It's all in the message'. So we'd like to see a sentiment or quote as the focal element. Our wonderful sponsor this week is Nicecrane.

So onto my DT card, I have made an anniversary card using a fabulous sentiment designed by StampArt Design. I love cards where the sentiment is the main thing. I made a frame using a leaf punch and lots of buttons. The card was an 'order' from my mum for my dad. I think they both liked it...

Paper - Wellington by Do Crafts
Sentiment - from the Love to Think of You set by StampArt Design from Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment tag - Craftwork Cards
Buttons, seam binding, pearl - stash
Other - La-La Land Crafts hearts banner die, oval Nestabilities die, Woodware leaf punch, kraft cardstock, brown chalk ink pad

Please do come and join us over at Allsorts this week for our challenge x

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

I LOVE Wales!

We have arrived home from Wales this evening, the washing machine is already on ;-) We had a great week - lots of sunshine and happy times. I had my very first Barm Cake and Welsh ice cream is fabulous! Here are a couple of pics from our time away...

This is the beach closest to where we stayed, near Prestatyn...
Me getting my (canvas) shoes and feet wet, just couldn't resist...
We had a fab time at the Bronze Age mine at Great Orme, near Llandudno...
Some of the tunnels were sooooo narrow...
This is Thomas in a Aqua Paddler...
Here's Jack with an Aqua Glider...

I'll be back tomorrow with my Allsorts DT card x

Bad Crafter :-(

Well, I had great plans to craft to my heart's content over the summer holidays but I have to say I haven't really been in the mood so I haven't really done any. What I have done is lots of reading and I've loved it. I have also spent loads of time out and about with my boys as the weather has been pretty reasonable. We are off to beautiful North Wales this morning for 5 days. My boys are very excited. We hope to have lots of fun on the beach and see a couple of castles, visit an old mine and maybe a trip to Anglesey if time allows.

For now I would like to show you a card I made on Saturday (mojo returned for a couple of hours!). I saw this gorgeous image recently on Facebook and absolutely fell in love with it. I bought some tiny corked glass bottles from ebay a few weeks ago and have used my first one on this card, I added sugar to the bottle and it is supposed to resemble snow. I also added some cute jingle bells. What do you think...?

Close up of the little bottle...
 Jingle bells, jingle bells...

Now for something completely different from me...

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts and our theme this week has been chosen by the lovely Helene and is 'Use Acetate'. Our wonderful sponsors this week are Crimson Cloud and My Heart Pieces so 2 chances to win :-)

So onto my DT card, I wanted to try acetate on a card. I embossed it (never done this before but love the result) and made my own card base using a piece of kraft cardstock and my embossed acetate panel. I used some very pretty paper on the inside panel and a matching piece on the back. What do you think...?

Owl in a Tree...

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Allsorts and our theme this week has been chosen by the lovely Catherine and is 'Stitching - real or faux'. Our wonderful sponsors this week are Passion for Stamps and Crafty Devils Papercraft, 2 chances to win :-)

So onto my DT piece, I have opted for real stitching and cross stitched a cute owl design and popped him on the front of a decorated notebook. I didn't have enough of the stripy paper to cover the whole book so I cut the piece I did have in half horizontally and added the brown strip across the centre to cover the gap ;-) I think I am going to give this to my dad for his birthday...

Here's a close up of the owl...
