Questions, questions...

Morning peeps, this is an unusual post for me as I have been nominated by Tracy to participate in a hop of sorts to share a bit about our creative process.  I am privileged to be a craft buddy with Tracy on the Allsorts DT.

I have four questions to answer:

1. What am I working on?
As I am on school holidays (yay!) I have been trying to get ahead with my Allsorts DT work. I've done pretty well having made all my September projects already and I am just about to start on October. I love cross stitching but haven't completed any projects for such a long time. I have recently started stitching a design which I hope to complete and give as a Christmas present - not sure how I will finish it yet, my head is a mix of ideas...

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I think my work is influenced by the work of others and I love spending time seeing what others have been up to. I think my cards tend to follow a certain style, it's a style I like and feel comfortable with. I have tried hard more recently to buck this trend and make things that don't 'look the same'. But, I have to say I love - gorgeous paper, flowers and buttons and these do show up on most of my cards ;-)

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I started papercrafting as a hobby but I continue it after all these years because it keeps me sane. I do sometimes feel my life runs along at 100 miles an hour and crafting gives me a way of almost stopping the world and spending time doing something just for me. I am a firm believer that we all need our own space and crafting is what I do when I am in my space.

4. How does my writing/creating process work? 
Unlike lots of crafters I don't have a craft room or even a craft table. I store my craft stash in the cupboard under the stairs. I colour sitting on the sofa (prefer this to at the table) and use my guillotine and die-cutting machine while sitting on the floor. For my cards I tend to colour an image first then choose papers and embellishments. I naturally lean to blues, greens, browns and pinks.
